Position Summary:
The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager and site General Foreman on technical development projects. This position ensures accurate coordination, documentation, and communication across teams by managing project-related documents, materials, submittals, and software systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in supporting successful project execution from pre-construction through closeout.
Essential Job Functions:

Maintain and track the Request for Information (RFI) log and ensure timely submission of RFIs.

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

Upload and manage current project documentation in Procore and other platforms (drawings, RFIs, checklists, etc.).

Maintain and manage the Submittal Log and Procurement Tracking Log.

Coordinate material shipments and subcontractor documentation.

Accurately perform job start-up tasks, including baseline budget entry using standard cost codes.

Collaborate with Project Manager on change orders and subcontractor coordination.

Participate in the development of the job schedule and assist with schedule narratives.

Assemble job closeout documents, including warranties and as-builts.

Ensure compliance with safety plans at the corporate, district, and job site levels.

Lead and support implementation of the project closeout plan.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Collateral Duties:

Answer phones and assist with general administrative tasks.

Conduct research and assist with special projects.

Update internal databases and project tracking tools.

Attend staff meetings and contribute to team discussions.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)

Strong understanding of construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of computer and desk work

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally

Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required

Regular job site visits, including exposure to outdoor elements and uneven terrain

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform light physical activity
