The pay range that has been established for this role is $90K – $115K.   We are also open to receiving resumes for candidates that are looking for a senior level role as well.  The pay band for that role would DOE.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team of professionals. This full time, exempt position will be primarily responsible for preparing estimates/bids on designated projects.

Responsibilities:
• Provides accurate and complete quantity surveys facilitating application/identification of labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Reviews workforce requirements and critical labor production rates with stakeholders prior to submitting the proposal in order to ensure the accuracy of the estimate.
• Secures quotations from material suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders that support estimated costs.
• Understands estimating assumptions including but not limited to labor production rates; scheduling; sequencing; safety issues; building code issues; construction techniques and
alternative construction materials or methods that may impact costs. Prepares accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing. Determines labor and construction equipment costs. • Facilitates the review of contractual issues with management and insurance requirements with designated parties during the bid process.
• Prepares bid estimates that take into consideration scheduling and sequencing with a specific emphasis placed on safety.
• Assists project management in developing an effective job cost budget; material and subcontractor buyouts, change orders, and post-mortem reviews. Actively monitors the progression of the project to confirm that construction complies with estimating assumptions.
• Participates in estimating meetings at designated intervals to facilitate department communications, continuous improvement, teamwork, and planned training initiatives.
• Post award works with the project management team.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested by management.

Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of project management and/or estimating experience gained in the wall and ceiling industry.
• Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations. Experienced in assembling accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner.
• Understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Familiarity with critical path, logic, sequencing, and activity identification in schedules.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Quick Bid estimating software as well as in reading and understanding specifications, blueprints, and drawings.

Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• Business development experience.
• Knowledgeable about and experienced with local construction markets.
