General Job Description
This position is responsible for independently delivering mechanical plumbing engineering services from conceptual design through construction completion. The ideal candidate will manage multiple small to medium-sized projects with minimal oversight, contributing technical expertise and leadership to the project design process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Independently manage project planning, coordination, and execution for multiple simultaneous assignments.

Complete conceptual designs that comply with Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards.

Prepare plumbing calculations and design layouts for equipment and systems.

Develop drawings for commercial plumbing systems, including gas piping, waste/vent, domestic water distribution, and kitchen plumbing.

Engage engineering managers or applications appropriately in key project decisions.

Coordinate proactively with Project Management, Construction, Service departments, Controls, and other trade teams.

Conduct economic and energy analyses related to plumbing design.

Support field engineering through execution, trade coordination, scheduling, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Maintain high-quality design drawings and models.

Communicate clearly and professionally with project teams and colleagues.

Manage time and priorities effectively to meet schedule commitments.

Provide guidance to other design team members when requested by management.

Ensure adherence to internal engineering standards and project execution processes.

Perform additional duties as required by the manager.
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable, but not required.

Minimum 3 years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant.

Strong understanding of engineering design principles and systems applications.

Familiar with building codes, industry standards, and best practices.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

Physical Requirements

Schedule
-
Monday–Friday; typical start time between 7:00–8:00 AM, end time between 4:00–5:00 PM.

Includes one-hour lunch and two paid rest breaks.

Occasional overtime may be needed depending on workload.
