Position Overview:
An established and highly respected commercial electrical contractor in Southern California is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing team. This is a leadership role focused on the front-end planning, estimating, and coordination of commercial electrical projects, ensuring a smooth transition from preconstruction to execution.
Key Qualifications:

Must have a strong background in electrical estimating; this role requires deep experience on the estimating side of the business

Proven ability to manage the pre-construction process for commercial electrical projects, from concept through handoff

Expertise in reading and interpreting electrical plans and specifications

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all pre-construction efforts for commercial electrical projects, with a focus on precision estimating and effective planning

Collaborate closely with internal departments, clients, general contractors, and vendors to ensure accurate bids and project success

Review design documents and specifications to prepare detailed estimates and value engineering proposals

Coordinate with project management and operations to ensure smooth handoffs and clarity around scope and budget

Track and manage budgets, schedules, RFIs, and preconstruction documentation

Participate in design-build strategy, constructability reviews, and client presentations
Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, codes, and market pricing

Experience with estimating software and preconstruction platforms

Familiarity with the Orange County and Southern California commercial market
