Expected Salary: $140,000 – $150,000

Location: Flexible (Denver: 25–50% travel; Chicago: 50–75% travel)

Essential Functions

Leverage your passion and expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to:

  • Conduct detailed Property Condition Assessments (PCAs)

  • Estimate probable capital and operational costs

  • Perform peer reviews of building MEP system designs

  • Lead energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, and construction/design reviews of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems

  • Collaborate with site personnel and engage clients directly

  • Contribute to a wide variety of commercial and institutional projects

  • Travel to project sites as required


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Education: BSME, BSEE, or BSAE with a mechanical specialty preferred

  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) required

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in the design and evaluation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems

  • Proven leadership and project management experience

  • Deep expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems; strong working knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems

  • Familiarity with national/state building codes, sustainability consulting, energy audits, and commissioning

  • Strong client engagement and business development capabilities

  • LEED or CEM certification is a plus

  • Excellent professional communication, multitasking, and organizational skills

  • Software proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box

  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to ongoing learning in MEP engineering


Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Operate standard office equipment (keyboard, calculator, printer/scanner/copier)

  • Use adequate visual acuity to perform duties effectively on screens and paper

  • Navigate active construction sites, including rough terrain

  • Respond to auditory and physical site hazards quickly

  • Ascend/descend ladders and stairs, access confined spaces

  • Safely work in outdoor or unconditioned indoor environments

  • Travel as required: 25–50% for Denver-based roles; 50–75% for Chicago-based roles
