Position Overview
A Commercial Electrical Contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to support large-scale commercial electrical construction projects and eventually transition into a Chief Estimator leadership role.
This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates, developing conceptual and design-build budgets, reviewing bid documents and specifications, and leading estimating efforts for complex electrical construction projects. The role also includes mentorship and oversight of junior estimators while supporting collaboration between estimating, project management, and operations teams.
Projects include large commercial developments, data centers, and other complex electrical infrastructure work.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete estimates for commercial electrical construction projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and data entry using estimating software
- Develop conceptual budgets and design-build estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Review estimates and work prepared by junior estimators
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing
- Support bid strategy and preconstruction efforts
- Coordinate project turnover activities with Project Managers and operations teams
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Participate in contract review and negotiation processes
- Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines simultaneously

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects
- Experience developing conceptual budgets and design-build estimates
- Leadership experience mentoring or overseeing estimators preferred
- Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes
- In-depth understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with estimating software platforms such as Trimble Accubid preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Electrical Engineering or construction-related degree preferred
