Position Overview
The Electrical Field Engineer will support Project Engineers, Project Managers, and General Foremen with field coordination, project documentation, material tracking, and construction management activities on commercial and data center construction projects. This role is heavily field-oriented and provides hands-on experience with large-scale electrical construction work.
The position is ideal for an entry-level to early-career professional interested in project engineering, field operations, and construction management within the electrical contracting industry.
Primary project work will be located on active job sites, with occasional travel to the office as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project teams with quantity tracking and field reporting
- Support preparation and management of RFIs
- Assist with project documentation and Procore management
- Walk job sites with field leadership to evaluate project progress and percent complete
- Help ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Assist with preparation of design drawings, pull plans, working drawings, and as-built documentation
- Obtain vendor quotations and material proposals
- Support field purchasing and material requisitions
- Prepare quantity takeoffs for field-purchased materials and equipment
- Coordinate with field crews, vendors, and project management teams
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Interest in electrical construction, project engineering, or construction management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with construction software such as Procore is a plus
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications preferred
- Willingness to work primarily in the field environment
