Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Purchasing Agent to support purchasing operations within a fast-paced construction environment. This role works closely with the Purchasing Manager and plays a key role in ensuring timely procurement of materials, accurate order tracking, and effective vendor coordination.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a willingness to learn and grow within a structured purchasing team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders for materials and equipment.
Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery to job sites.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and order logs.
Communicate with internal teams to understand project needs and procurement timelines.
Support vendor relationship management and ongoing communication.
Assist in resolving discrepancies related to orders, invoices, and shipments.
Work collaboratively with the Purchasing Manager and team to support daily operations.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and supports overall purchasing operations.
Preferred Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain support.
Experience working in construction or a related industry preferred.
Familiarity with purchasing systems or ERP software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
