Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Compliance Engineer to lead certification strategy and regulatory compliance for advanced power generation systems.
This is a high-impact, specialized role focused on ensuring complex electrical products meet global safety and compliance standards. You’ll work closely with engineering teams and certification bodies to guide products from design through approval—playing a critical role in scaling cutting-edge energy technology globally.

What You’ll Do
Certification Strategy & Planning
Define certification strategies, timelines, and milestones for new and existing products.
Identify applicable regulatory standards early in the design process.
Develop certification plans, including gap analysis, testing programs, and compliance documentation.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with key standards such as UL 1741, UL 508A/508C, UL 1004, IEEE 1547, NFPA 70, and global IEC/EN requirements.
Support CE marking requirements, including LVD, EMC, and Machinery Directives.
Ensure compliance with Canadian CSA standards and other international regulations.
Design for Compliance
Review electrical schematics, system architecture, and embedded systems for compliance.
Evaluate insulation, grounding, creepage, and clearance requirements.
Verify protection systems (fault, overcurrent, thermal, shutdown safety).
Drive design improvements to meet safety and regulatory standards.
EMC / EMI & Testing
Support EMC design and mitigation strategies.
Coordinate pre-compliance and formal certification testing.
Work directly with certification bodies (UL, TÜV, CSA, Intertek, etc.).
Resolve testing issues and implement corrective design actions.
Documentation & Reporting
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including CE technical files and risk assessments.
Prepare declarations of conformity and certification reports.
Ensure accurate product labeling and safety documentation.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of experience in electrical compliance, product certification, or regulatory engineering.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Strong expertise in UL, CSA, IEC, and EN standards.
Experience certifying industrial electrical equipment, power electronics, or distributed energy systems.
Hands-on experience working with certification bodies (UL, TÜV, CSA, Intertek, NRTL).
Ability to review and guide electrical designs for safety compliance.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
