Position Overview
We are seeking a proven Construction Project Executive to oversee and drive the success of major construction projects — including a single large-scale ($200M+) project or multiple high-complexity builds.
This role requires a dynamic leader with deep technical expertise, strong financial acumen, and the ability to manage risk, relationships, and results at the highest level. The Project Executive will ensure overall success across project administration, financial performance, scheduling, risk mitigation, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Administration

Lead and facilitate internal and client-facing project meetings; ensure detailed minutes and action items are documented and distributed.

Oversee all project startup meetings, ensuring proper participation and documentation.

Monitor and track project action items through completion to support schedule and quality goals.

Ensure timely completion of submittal reviews, status reports, closeout documents, and maintenance manuals.

Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress and reinforce standards.
2. Financial Performance

Continuously monitor project budgets and costs, identifying potential issues early and implementing corrective actions.

Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure day-to-day financial health while developing long-term project execution strategies.

Oversee material procurement, subcontractor agreements, and vendor contracts to ensure optimal savings without compromising quality or safety.

Ensure all change orders and cost adjustments are issued promptly and accurately.

Review project financials and cost reports regularly with site management teams.
3. Schedule Performance

Provide executive oversight for project scheduling, ensuring alignment with contractual and operational objectives.

Partner with field operations, MEP services, and design teams to maintain project timelines and address delays proactively.

Ensure that any project delays are documented, communicated, and justified with proper contractual correspondence.
4. Risk Management

Interpret and enforce all contractual terms, conditions, and obligations between owners, subcontractors, and vendors.

Develop and implement comprehensive project risk management plans addressing internal and external risk factors.

Promote and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and profitability objectives.

Collaborate with field leadership and engineering to monitor and mitigate emerging risks through corrective actions.

Exhibit clear, consistent leadership in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
5. Relationship Management

Serve as the primary client liaison and key decision-maker for assigned projects.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure alignment and satisfaction.

Develop communication plans outlining reporting structures and escalation procedures for the entire project team.

6. Team Leadership & Development

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team.

Mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers to enhance leadership capability and technical skills.

Ensure alignment with the company’s mission, core values, and performance standards.

Identify and resolve personnel issues to maintain team cohesion and productivity.
7. Collaboration

Maintain open communication with cross-functional teams including field operations, design, and executive leadership.

Coordinate with peer Project Executives and senior management to ensure consistency of project delivery practices and strategy alignment.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and extensive industry experience.

10+ years of progressive experience managing large, complex construction projects ($100M+), including at least 7 years with direct P&L accountability.

Demonstrated success leading design-build and/or hard bid projects across multiple delivery methods (Lump Sum, GMP, Cost-Plus, Fee-Based CM).

Strong understanding of construction contracts, risk allocation, and legal implications.

Proven record of improving project profitability and achieving financial targets.

Technical fluency in engineering disciplines sufficient to lead early client discussions and evaluate cost impacts.

Experience managing projects involving process systems, large manufacturing/distribution facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure.

Skilled in estimating, scheduling, and developing execution strategies for complex, multi-phase projects.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent project management and scheduling software.
