Position Overview
The Project Executive provides high-level leadership, oversight, and strategic direction across multiple construction projects, ensuring they meet budgetary, scheduling, and quality objectives. This role serves as the central authority from pre-construction through project completion, owning all aspects of project delivery, client satisfaction, and operational success. The Project Executive is a critical liaison between the company and clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Project Oversight

Lead all financial, contractual, and performance aspects of assigned projects.

Ensure projects meet profitability targets while managing risk and maintaining quality standards.

Oversee project lifecycle from acquisition through closeout, ensuring alignment with client goals and company expectations.

Serve as the main point of contact for high-level client communication and decision-making.
Business Development & Project Acquisition

Participate in project pursuits by contributing to proposals, interviews, and strategy development.

Identify potential project opportunities through industry relationships and lead generation.

Assist in reviewing RFPs, contracts, and project requirements, evaluating risks and strategic alignment.

Help negotiate client contracts and provide input on scope, schedule, and cost strategies.
Preconstruction & Startup

Assign appropriate project staff, including Project Managers and Superintendents.

Oversee preconstruction planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics development.

Facilitate seamless transitions from estimating/preconstruction to operations.
Construction Operations

Monitor project performance and provide guidance to ensure budget, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved.

Conduct regular site visits and project reviews; address risks and challenges proactively.

Ensure compliance with contract requirements, internal SOPs, and safety standards.
Team Development & Leadership

Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.

Evaluate staff assignments and ensure talent aligns with project scope and complexity.

Support recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluation of team members.
Financial Management

Oversee forecasting, cost control, and financial performance reporting.

Manage project contingencies, billing, savings strategies, and cash flow.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and client billing.
Schedule & Workflow Management

Support the development and maintenance of project schedules.

Encourage implementation of Lean principles and effective planning practices.

Monitor progress and adjust strategies to stay on track.
Safety Leadership

Champion a culture of safety; enforce safety standards across all projects.

Ensure proper budgeting for safety and regulatory compliance.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain consistent and professional communication with owners, architects, consultants, and other key stakeholders.

Represent the company in client meetings, addressing performance feedback and building long-term relationships.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record of successfully managing complex commercial or industrial construction projects.

Deep knowledge of construction practices, contracts, self-perform strategies, and preconstruction processes.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team development skills.

Ability to manage change, embrace innovation, and drive continuous improvement.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Experience with Lean construction practices is a plus.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to project sites and client meetings.

Office and jobsite-based work; ability to walk job sites and participate in site reviews.
