Experience Required: 8+ Years
Position Overview
We’re seeking a technically strong and client-facing Sales Engineer to act as the primary technical resource supporting complex energy solution sales.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering and business, bridging the gap between advanced energy technologies and client requirements across data centers, midstream, and C&I power markets. You’ll play a critical role in validating solutions, supporting deal progression, and ensuring seamless transition from concept to implementation.
If you enjoy combining deep technical expertise with client interaction and strategic problem-solving, this is a standout opportunity in the clean energy space.
What You’ll Do
Technical Pre-Sales Support
Lead technical discovery discussions to assess client energy loads, uptime needs, and site constraints.
Deliver high-level technical presentations and product demonstrations to engineering and operations teams.
Conduct feasibility analyses to ensure solutions integrate with existing infrastructure.
Proposal Development & Engineering Collaboration
Partner with sales teams to develop detailed technical proposals, including system design and performance modeling.
Translate engineering data into financial outcomes such as ROI, energy savings, and emissions reduction.
Act as the “voice of the customer” to internal engineering and product teams.
Technical Subject Matter Expertise
Serve as a subject matter expert in microgrids, DER/VPP, renewable integration, and energy recovery systems.
Ensure solutions meet regulatory, utility, and environmental requirements.
Stay current on competitive technologies and industry trends to strengthen positioning.
Implementation & Handoff
Define technical scope of work (SOW) for successful project execution.
Support pilot programs and early-stage deployments to validate system performance.
Ensure a smooth transition from sales to operations and delivery teams.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of experience in sales engineering or application engineering within energy, power generation, or data center sectors.
Strong experience with midstream operations, utility interconnections, or critical infrastructure projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering (PE license a plus).
Deep technical knowledge of power systems, thermodynamics, microgrids, DER/VPP, and energy resilience solutions.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineers and executive stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Experience with technical modeling tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
Why This Role Stands Out
Work at the forefront of clean energy and advanced power solutions.
Highly strategic role with direct impact on closing complex, high-value deals.
Blend of technical depth and client-facing influence.
Strong compensation with performance-based upside.
Opportunity to work across cutting-edge energy technologies and large-scale infrastructure projects.
