Position Overview
The Electrical Estimator will join the Large Contracts Division and play a critical role in the successful budgeting and bidding of complex commercial and industrial projects. Candidates must have mid-level estimating experience and a strong understanding of commercial construction, particularly design-build and ground-up projects. Experience with McCormick estimating software is a plus.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for electrical construction projects across various sectors

Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop detailed cost breakdowns

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather and verify cost data

Manage budgets and timelines related to bidding and preconstruction

Participate in design-build and budgeting exercises with clients and internal teams

Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and partners

Track historical data and stay current with material pricing, labor rates, and market trends
Project Types
Candidates should have experience estimating electrical scopes for:

Commercial developments (hotels, casinos, malls)

Healthcare facilities (hospitals, nursing homes)

Industrial plants (power plants, wastewater treatment facilities)

Institutional buildings (prisons, public safety)

Building management and temperature control systems

Qualifications

3–7 years of electrical estimating experience (mid-level role)

Strong experience in commercial and industrial projects

Proficient in design-build, budgeting, and takeoffs

Familiarity with McCormick or similar estimating software

Solid understanding of electrical systems and NEC codes

Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
