We are actively growing our project team in Atlanta and are seeking a licensed Associate – Structural Engineer to support a range of commercial and industrial building projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on engineer with strong technical knowledge and experience across a variety of structure types—particularly in commercial, industrial, and high-rise multifamily buildings.
Role Overview
As an Associate – Structural Engineer, you will serve as a technical lead and contribute across the full scope of project delivery. You will be responsible for assessing new construction documents, evaluating existing structures, and preparing design solutions for structural repairs. This position requires a licensed Professional Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in structural design or consulting.
Key Responsibilities

Review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for new construction projects.

Conduct site visits and perform property condition assessments and investigations.

Identify root causes of structural issues in existing buildings and garages; develop repair and retrofit design documents.

Collaborate with clients, internal staff, and consultants to ensure a strong understanding of project objectives and requirements.

Prepare detailed reports and engineering documentation.

Serve as a technical team member and lead on small to mid-sized projects.

Travel to client sites as required (approx. 30%).
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering (design or consulting).

Proficiency in analyzing building types, codes, materials, and lateral force-resisting systems.

Familiarity with ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit design is a plus.

Experience with parking garage evaluations and structural repair design is highly desirable.

Strong technical understanding of construction methods and building materials.

Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Proficient in AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Bluebeam, Revit, and Box.

Experience with PlanGrid is a plus.
